New Beginnings....New Home. New Friends. New Life.

Summer ended...it was finally time to say goodbye to the city that I had called home for 17 years. I knew everything there was to know about living in Layton and was completely comfortable in every single way. Hugs and goodbyes were exchanged between my loved ones and I. The cars were packed full and in the early morning hours my parents and I headed off to my new home. After my parents left my dorm to drive back home, the feelings of fear and loneliness started to creep in. The first couple of days were incredibly hard; everything was new and unfamiliar. I craved skyping my old familiar friends and talking to them. The first few meetings during flight school I sat, alone in my mind, in an unfamiliar auditorium filled with unfamiliar freshman. I started to get discouraged and I felt like I would never find friends and that Cedar City could never be called home. We walked through the clock tower towards the east symbolizing our new start at SUU...I was very skeptical whether I would enjoy this new start. Then things changed....for the BETTER! :) I met two people who would change everything my neighbor Trent and my new friend (who I love more everyday) Kelsey...They included me and introduced me to their friends who were just as amazing as them. Namely Kalynn Eve Peterson and Abby Richards. I finally had friends and they are so wonderful. I love them all so much and without them I probably wouldn't have the same attitude towards college that I do now. We have had lots of fun adventures so far as new friends and I can't wait to have more with them. They are so fun! Movie nights, eating popsicles in the elevator, ultimate UNO, the list goes on...I can't wait to get closer to them and to continue to enjoy the SUU experience with them! :)
